Sukhmani received a Harmsworth Scholarship from Middle Temple Inn and completed the Bar Vocational Course in 2006. Thereafter she worked within law firms where she cross-qualified as a Solicitor and was called to the Solicitors Roll in December 2010.
Sukhmani is an experienced Solicitor, having worked in law centres, for a large local authority and in niche employment law firms in the City of London. She has also undertaken advocacy in the Employment Tribunals.
Sukhmani has acted for employees and employers which means her clients benefit from her experience of understanding the issues from both sides of any workplace dispute.
Sukhmani has had the opportunity to represent senior members of management teams, managing directors, other senior executives and employees working in world-class companies, as well as acting for employees across the UK and those working in the City of London.
She has also provided a range of employer companies with support and advice in connection with HR issues.
Sukhmani is able to advise at any stage on work-related issues. She has experience with unfair dismissal, redundancy, sickness absences, all aspects of discrimination, employment tribunal litigation, negotiation of settlements and exit strategies.
Her expertise also covers HR advisory and support which includes the drafting of contracts and company handbooks as well as providing advice in relation to grievances and appeals, and equal opportunities.
Sukhmani is highly skilled when it comes to bringing and defending discrimination at work claims and whistleblowing claims. She also has a particular interest in advising employers on fairness and equality in the workplace. Sukhmani hopes that her work makes the world of employment fairer for all.
Outside the office, Sukhmani enjoys travelling, yoga, learning new things, and listening to live music.
